Nerd Notes: Week 2 Edition

It is week 2 for the Minden Crimson Tide and week 2 of a 3 week home stand to open the season. Minden welcomes Green Oaks to “The Pit” tonight for the first time since the 2004 season. So, it’s time for this week’s edition of “Nerd Notes” for Minden vs. Green Oaks.
Minden has had several individual achievements that have occurred in matchups vs. Green Oaks over the years.
- Most rushing yards in a game: Kay Jones 254 yards in 2004 (6th all-time)
- Longest rush in a game: Kay Jones in 2004 (91 yards, 2004—5th longest in team history)
- Longest INT return: Julian Anderson (95 yards, 1995—2nd place all-time)
- Most INT in one game: Lucas Owens (3, 1998—tied for 1st all-time)
As far as the Minden/Green Oaks series:
- Minden leads all-time series 9-3
- Minden won first 7 matchups from 1971-1995
- Green Oaks had a 2 game winning streak in 2000 & 2003 (They had their first win against the Tide in 1996)
- First game was in 1971 (Minden, 17-0)
- Last game played was in 2004 (Minden, 36-21)
- Biggest win in the series: 1977 (42-8)
- Biggest loss in the series: 1996 (35-7)
