Webster Parish Police Jury Wrap Up for July

The Webster Parish Police Jury held its monthly meeting on Tuesday. Among items on the light agenda included:
- Ratifying action on Resolution 007-2020-A Resolution in opposition of all proposed legislation that transfers the administration and collection of local sales and use taxes to the Louisiana Department of Revenue.
- Approved a number of recreational funding requests:
- District 2 – City of Springhill – Doors, shelves and paint for city park – $515
- District 11 – Town of Sibley – Sibley annual clean up day expense – $200
- District 5 – Town of Cotton Valley-Signs – $1,875
- Purchase of metal rack & roof for Office of Emergency Preparedness, side by side backpack blower with mount, a total of $2,000 from the following districts:
- District 1 – $250
- District 2 – $250
- District 3 – $200
- District 4 – $250
- District 6 – $200
- District 9 – $300
- District 10 – $250
- District 12 – $300
The Webster Parish Coroner Office reported 38 deaths in June, 17 Orders of Protective Custody, and 4 CECs (Coroner’s Emergency Certificate).
The next scheduled meeting of the Webster Parish Police Jury is set for Tuesday, August 4th.
