Tourism Director To Speak At Minden Lions Club

MINDEN – Serena Gray, executive director of the Webster Parish Convention and Visitors Commission, will be the guest speaker for the June 11 meeting of the Minden Lions Club.

Raised in Lafayette, Serena made her way to north Louisiana as a student at Louisiana Tech University, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in political science. Gray has 10 years of marketing experience obtained through events and promotions for area restaurants, spas, golf courses and non-profits. Throughout her career she has been recognized as a graduate of the Louisiana Tourism Leadership Academy, Shreveport Leadership Program, Greater Minden Chamber of Commerce 15 Under 40, and served in leadership positions on numerous boards. She and her husband, Joel, live in Minden with their dogs, Reese and Sandy, and serve in leadership roles at the Christian Church at Minden. They enjoy exploring our bayous and lakes as well as finding new opportunities to serve the community in order to leave a positive impact.

Gray has led Webster Parish’s tourism initiatives for the past two years. She will provide Lions with the renewed vision for local tourism and discuss efforts to promote outdoor recreation throughout the parish. She will also report on the “Visit Webster” Mobile App and future enhancements that are planned.

The Minden Lions Club meets Thursdays at noon at the American Legion Memorial Home, located at 119 Pine St. in Minden.
