Roger Boykin was born December 5, 1951, in Holland Michigan and passed from this life March 1, 2023 in Shreveport, LA. He is preceded in death by his parents Leon and Sybil Boykin and brother Carl Boykin. He is survived by his wife Ann Skipper Boykin and children Chris Mathewson (Dee) and Angelia Eisner (James) and grandchildren Warren Connor Eisner, Jade Sanches (Will) and great grandson Jett.

Graveside services will be Saturday March 4, 2023, at 2 pm at Old Lapile Cemetery, Huttig, Arkansas with Pastor Richard Methvin officiating.

Roger was a mechanic and retired from Pennzoil/Devon Energy after 35 years. Most of those years were spent in the Gulf of Mexico on an oil rig. He made many lifelong friends during this time. He valued his friends and talked with them often during the last 13 years when his declining health limited his travel. David Derks called him three times a week during his dialysis therapy. Eddie LeBlanc would deliver boudin and other treats from South LA. Henry Collins and many others kept his spirits high during these tough years. I would like to say a special “thank you” to Wayne Rolen who worked tirelessly to keep our muscle cars in good mechanical shape.

Roger was a man of courage, discipline, and strong values. Above all, he believed a man was only as good as his word. He lived as he believed. If Roger called you a friend, you were blessed. He was a man of few words but when he spoke, it was something meaningful to others. His winning personality endured him to all.

Roger loved God, his family, and grandchildren.

He will be greatly missed.

Pallbearers: Clint Boykin, Cannon Boykin, Bo Skipper, Dennis Scott, Michael McKnight, Bruno O’Guinn.
