Carlos received his reward in heaven on September 8, 2020 in Minden, Louisiana. He was a courageous fighter, but his soul was longing for rest.
Carlos grew up in the Evergreen Community and in Minden, LA. He graduated Minden High School in 1978 and then attended Louisiana Tech receiving his Masters in Professional Accountancy. He worked for a short time with the Internal Revenue Service in New Orleans and Monroe before moving back home and joining a local public accounting firm founded by Pierce Jamieson. He became a CPA and eventually became part owner in the firm. He currently is a partner with Mike Wise and Kristine Cole in Wise, Martin, & Cole, LLC. He was a life-long member of the Church of Christ where he served in many capacities including Elder.
He was preceded in death by his father, A.D. Martin; grandparents, A.G. & Glatis Smith and Arthur and Clara Martin.
He is survived by his wife, Kristie Martin of Minden, mother, Charlotte S. Martin of Minden; son, Quinton Martin of Minden; brothers, David Martin and wife Sonya and Art Martin and wife Kim both of Minden; nieces, Kristi Maupin (Eddie), Laura Haley (Joey), Amanda Carroll (Justin), and Kelsey Cantwell (Marc); and nephews, Dave Martin (Bridget), Michael Martin (Chasity), Colby Martin (Kayla) and Cody Kilpatrick (Hailey) and all those who called him “Uncle”.
Graveside service for Carlos Martin will be held Saturday, September 12, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Evergreen Union Church Cemetery, 1638 Evergreen Road, Minden, Louisiana, followed by a fellowship in remembrance of his time with us at Givens Hall at Evergreen Union Church.
The family wishes to give special thanks to Dr. Scott Philllips, Dr. Manish Dhawan and their staff, and all those that gave the family support over the last eight years.
