Edmond Funderburg

Edmond Funderburg of Minden, known as Ed to his family and friends, age 87, passed away April 24, 2020 in Shreveport, LA.  He was born March 30, 1933 in Drew County, Arkansas to the late John Ed & Ruth Gaddy Funderburg. He was a United States Army veteran, retired from International Paper and a member of Lakeside United Methodist church in Minden, LA. He loved the Lord and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife Charlene Perritt Funderburg; three brothers, Johnny Mac, Elvin and Will Ed Funderburg; two sisters, Allean Morgan and Jodi Winstead; and two grandsons, Aidan Troquille and Aaron Funderburg. Survivors include two sisters, Mary Jane Tiner and Laverne Styles both of Little Rock; one son, Eddie Funderburg, and wife Cindy of Ardmore, OK; two daughters Christie Barnes and husband Tom of Haughton, LA, and Denise Jegroo and husband Trevor of Olive Branch, MS; five grandchildren, Danny Anderson and wife Gabi of Pontotoc, MS; Rebecca Funderburg of Austin, TX; Samantha Tripp of Tucson, AZ; Amanda Funderburg of Fayetteville, AR; Mia Troquille of Haughton, LA; and two great grandchildren, Aydan and Parker Anderson of Pontotoc, MS; step-children Brenda Bartlebaugh of Shreveport, Dr. Rhonda Webb and husband Dr. Bill Webb of Pagosa Springs, Colorado, Sandy Miller and husband Grady of Minden; step-grandchildren Rachel Clayton, Elizabeth Walkoviak, Michael Webb, Emily Miller, and Jeffrey Webb; and multiple step-great grandchildren.

A private family graveside service will be officiated by his son, Eddie Funderburg, and held 1:00 p.m., Monday, April 27, 2020.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or charity of donor’s choice.
