Garbage Pickup Day In Minden Moves Again

After delaying trash pickup a week after last week’s winter storms, city of Minden residents will have to wait one extra day. Minden Mayor, Terry Gardner, announced that trash pickup for Minden will be Saturday, February 27. Gardner said that the delay was requested by Republic Services because the Claiborne Parish Police Jury and Claiborne Parish Sherriff’s Department asked them on Sunday night not to come to the parish. Republic Services said it was to late to try to reschedule routes at that time, so they were forced to roll all municipalities that run from Minden Hauling (Claiborne Parish, Homer , Haynesville, Bienville Parish, Haughton, Springhill and Minden) back a day. Service is expected to return to Friday pick up next week.
