Bobbye Ryan Smith

Bobbye was born May 19, 1933, in Fryeburg, Louisiana and passed away March 15, 2023, in Bossier City, Louisiana. Bobbye was a longtime resident of Minden and leaves behind many friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Cullen Ryan and Myrtle Alexander Ryan, husband D.D. “Bud” Smith, sons David Smith and Dennis Smith, brother Jack Ryan, and sisters Gloria Ryan and Patricia Blair.
Bobbye and Bud built a legacy for their family in Dixie Inn. They owned and operated retail stores for over 50 years. Bobbye was a keen businesswoman and grew the business after her husband passed away. Bobbye was known and adored by her customers and always had a kind word and a smile. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends and hosting parties in her home.
She was endlessly devoted to her family and leaves memories full of love and laughter in all of our hearts. She is survived by sons Allen Smith and wife Dianna, Kenny Smith and wife Melanie, daughter Debbie Smith and friend Charlie, and daughter-in-law Kathleen Smith. Grandchildren Paul Smith, Jason Smith, Kelley Smith, Michael Guthrie, Lindsey Miles, Ryan Smith, Brock Smith, Conner Smith and wife Blakley, Kirsten Smart and husband Kaleb, and Joshua Todd. Great-grandchildren Cade Morgan, Seth Wilson, Gavin Smith, Khaleesi Smith, Shelbi Hanson, Jackson McCormick, Jayleigh McCormick, Owen Guthrie, Rebecca Guthrie, Sarah Guthrie, Ben Guthrie, Taylor Smith, Chase Smith, Eli Todd, and Hayes Smart. Great great-granddaughter Aria Smith. She is also survived by her sister, Bennie Stewart.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in honor of Bobbye be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Minden, Louisiana with Dee Anders officiating. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Minden, Louisiana. The family will receive friends at 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Saturday prior to the service.
