Webster Parish Reports First Death from COVID-19

According to the noon update from the Louisiana Department of Health, Webster Parish has reported its first death from the COVID-19 virus today, March 23, 2020. The website also reports three total cases for the parish, which would leave two active.
The numbers jumped again with the latest update, moving from 837 cases to 1,172 state-wide. State-wide deaths also jumped by 14 from 20 to 34.
In surrounding parishes: Claiborne has two reported cases with no deaths; Bienville has one reported case with no deaths; Bossier has 12 reported cases with no deaths; and Caddo has 34 reported cases with no deaths.
