It was a short agenda for the special session of the Minden City Council on Monday afternoon. The council voted 4-0 (Herbert Taylor absent) to appoint Jason Scott Lee, Police officer for the City of Minden Police Department. Also after a brief discussion over verbiage in a proposed ordinance regarding alcohol sales, the council, by a vote of 3-1 with Councilman Vincen Bradford being the lone no vote, approved Ordinance 1109 to amend and reenact Chapter 6, Alcoholic Beverages.
Following the short meeting, Mayor Terry Gardner reminded citizens about the ongoing boil advisory that should be rescinded Tuesday. Gardner also reminded citizens that the activities at the Minden Recreation Center are on hold until further notice. Gardner also stated that anyone that has the Civic Center reserved in the near future while attendance restrictions are in place with the Coronavirus are able to request a full refund of deposit and any other money paid to the city for the event.
The next meeting of the Minden City Council is set for Monday, April 6th.
